Local AI

In the age of AI, ULTRA OS is designed to embrace and support this transformative technology. We plan to provide our users with a comprehensive suite of local AI capabilities.
To be transparent: the ULTRA OS project would not be feasible without AI assistance. Without it, development would require 10 to 100 times more resources in both time and funding.
AI Features
Our AI integration will cover all major domains:

  • Large Language Models (LLMs)
  • Image generation
  • Video generation
  • Voice synthesis
  • Lip-sync video creation
  • And more emerging capabilities

Rapid Evolution

AI technology advances at an extraordinary pace, with significant breakthroughs occurring every 3 to 6 months. Given this rapid evolution, we cannot precisely predict what features and performance levels AI will achieve within the next 12 months.

We aim to make AI accessible on local PCs for users who want to explore and experience AI technology for the first time. This approach will provide ULTRA OS users with an affordable and straightforward entry point into AI. User-friendliness will be the cornerstone of our AI offering.
For professional users requiring more computational power, we will offer AI Cloud Services with enhanced capabilities

AI assistance will be integrated into our cross-platform programming IDE, “CoderBox”, helping developers write better code more efficiently.

We are committed to ensuring that all our AI services are powered by 100% renewable energy sources including solar, wind, hydroelectric, and biomass. We believe technological progress should not come at a hefty environmental cost.

We will offer different tiers of local AI desktop systems to match varying user needs and budgets. Potential hardware candidates include:

Orange Pi 5 Pro
16 GB RAM
System price: 400 USD
NVIDIA Jetson ORIN Nano Super
8 GB RAM
67 TOPS
System price: 600 USD
AMD Ryzen AI 395+ Max systems
128 GB RAM
126 TOPS
System price: 2500 USD
NVIDIA DGX Spark
128 GB RAM
1000 TOPS
System price: 5000 USD

Our goal is to democratize AI technology while maintaining environmental responsibility and exceptional user experience.

Artificial Intelligence is an amazing and powerful technology — but it also carries a wide range of negative impacts on our societies worldwide.

The interaction between AI and humans is designed to be consistently positive and supportive. This creates a false sense of security. AI almost never responds with negativity or rejection, which can make it feel like a form of psychological comfort — a “digital drug” that shields users from the negativity of real life.
People who fail to question AI’s output risk developing a dangerous dependency on it.

AI rarely admits, “I don’t know the answer,” which should already raise suspicion. Numerous studies have shown that AI systems are unreliable as information sources. A recent study in Germany found that, when asked about current global events, AI-generated answers contained one significant error in 45% of cases, multiple errors in 30%, and were completely wrong in 20%.

While some companies will profit enormously from AI, the technology also brings serious downsides. The primary beneficiaries are the corporations that develop or integrate AI into their operations.
On the other hand, 70–80% of programmers and support staff could lose their jobs. Millions of taxi drivers could be replaced by autonomous vehicles. Large numbers of call center employees may also face unemployment.

Who will pay for these displaced workers? Should it be the corporations that profited from automation — or the citizens of each country? So far, it seems ordinary people will bear the cost of the profits made by AI-driven companies.

The politicians of all countries should consider to raise taxes for AI and robots for replacing humans.

The developers of the first AI algorithms are now warning about the dangers that artificial intelligence poses to society.
Geoffrey Hinton — one of the “godfathers” of AI — has spoken out about the risks of powerful AI systems, including existential threats, and has expressed serious concerns about autonomy, control, and misuse. In May 2023, Hinton publicly announced his resignation from Google. He explained his decision by saying that he wanted to “freely speak out about the risks of A.I.” and added that a part of him now regrets his life’s work.
